Join us as we embark on a journey around the world here at Swanton Recreation.We have designed this program to build cultural awareness and understanding as well as increased educational opportunities to learn about the diverse cultures of the world. We will explore various aspects of different cultures, from food and popular holiday celebrations to music and dancing. Activities include group discussion, exploring different foods, virtual museum tours, arts, movies and lots of fun.Youth Culture Club- meets third Monday of the month5-630Grade 3-6*If there is enough interest for other age groups, program offering may be extended. Swanton Recreation Spring Track and FieldThis program will be open to youth Grades 1-6 starting Monday April 29th and end Tuesday June 11th. This will be operating every Monday and Tuesday from 5-6pm meeting at the garage off Jewett Street.Adrienne Brueckner will be the head coach of the program. If you'd like to volunteer to help please mention that in your child's registrationThis program will teach basic fundamentals for anyone interested in getting involved with the sport of Track and Field. Basic events taught will be Javelin, Shot Put and Baton.

Swanton Recreation Adult Softball LeagueThis league is open to adults 18+ plus to enjoy slow pitch softball Sundays at Swanton Recreation. TeamsRegister individually and in the question section please note which team your playing for. If you do not have a team we will place you on a team once registration is closed. Each team needs a minimum of 15 players. 2 women are required per team.TimeBeginning Sunday June 2nd and ending July 28th every Sunday. 9am-8pmScheduleThe schedule will be created once registration closes.FieldField 1(Swanton Rec Softball field) will be used. Teams will need to rake field and line field if necessary. Swanton Rec staff will not prep field for practices/games.EquipmentBats can be rented for season for $50 and balls can be bought. Dudley 12'' fast pitch ball $8 per ball.RulesWe will finalize rules with team managers prior to the beginning of the seasonSeasonFirst half will be practice, second half will be gamesUniformsIf each team wants to purchase team uniforms, Swanton Rec can assist in purchasing uniforms. Players will need to purchase their uniforms. The cost is NOT part of the registration fee.ParkingThe parking lot is off Jewett Street in the back. There is NO PARKING ON BLAKE OR JEWETT STREET***Swanton Recreation is a zero drug and tobacco zone. All drugs, alcohol, tobacco and vaping devices are prohibited.
