This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Join Naturalist Kurt Valenta and Swanton Recreation on guided winter's morning walk through the Stephen J. Young Marsh. This event is for the young and young at heart. Bring your snowshoes, hiking stick or even a sled to tow the little ones in, for a one mile journey into the marsh.

Swanton Recreation does have snowshoes, both children and adult sizes available, should you wish to borrow a pair. We just ask that you please give us a call (868-2493) by Friday 2/15 at noon to reserve and we will have them ready for you at the event.

About the Marsh: The Stephen J. Young Marsh Trail is about a one-mile loop. It begins and ends at the Stephen Young Marsh, and loops through the deciduous woods above the marsh. The trail begins across Tabor Road from the parking lot, but it’s a good idea to scan the marsh before crossing the road.

This event is sponsored in part by the Family Center of Northwestern Counseling & Support Services.
